As distance learning has been happening for Minnesota Schools since March 30, 2020, due to COVID-19, teachers of Fulda School District #505 have striven to give their students the best education that is possible, using a variety of different methods. They have exhibited an enormous amount of dedication to come up with ways to continue to inspire the students to learn and to enjoy their education – in spite of the fact that it is being done in the students’ homes.
The following questions were asked of SIX teachers in the Fulda District. The responses follow the questions.
I know that not having students face-to-face is not the way you envisioned this year to go.
1. What are some of the challenges you have face from a teaching aspect?
2. In what ways have you kept in contact with your students?
3. Being thrown into this way of teaching, I’m sure you’ve learned a few things along the way to help provide education for Fulda Public School students. Would you share?
4. Hopefully the next academic year will be a face-to-face situation. Will there be things you’ve incorporated into your distance learning you will be able to bring to the classroom?
5. Part of teaching, of course, is grading and correcting student work. How are your students turning in their homework and how has it been for you to grade it?
As the closing weeks of the school year close in, what are you hoping your students will take from this academic year?
