The MCC Rebels cross country team traveled to Marshall MN last Monday, September 12 to compete in the Marshall High School Cross Country Invitational at Independence Park. With temperatures in the high 60’s it was a nice, cool day for a race.
The meet started out with the junior high girls 2000 meter race. Running for the Rebels in that event was Chelby Kesteloot. Chelby had a nice race and finished with a time of 10:28. The next event of the night was the junior high boys 2000 meter race. The Rebels had six runners in this race. Maverick Beckmann came in first place overall for the junior high boys race with a time of 7:17. Next up for the Rebels was Abel Piper. Abel finished in the top 20 and his time was 8:34. Rylan Engelkes was the next junior higher across the finish line with a time of 8:40. Taking 28th and 29th place were Dylan Tutt and Dante Damm. Dante finished behind Dylan by only .4 seconds. It was close finish and both runners did a great job. Wrapping things up for the junior high boys was Ryan Risacher with a time of 8:57.
