Chef Kaci Nicole Henning is making a name for herself in the local food restaurants. One of her most talked about kitchen creations is a special alfredo sauce that is touted to be “absolutely delicious!”
Henning began her love affair with food a long time before she began working in the industry. “I credit by Grandma for my interest in cooking and serving foods that are pleasing to the palette. I cook with a lot of butter. When I would be at Grandma’s house she taught me to use lard. One of my favorite things to make with Grandma was homemade doughnuts. Grandma passed away at the age of 99 years. I feel that I still get my spiritual guidance from her. I’m ever so grateful for what she taught me.”
At the age of 14, Henning entered the workforce, cooking at McDonald’s. She stayed there for two years and then moved on to work at a Culver’s.
“I attended the Whitewater University, Whitewater, Wisconsin for one year, and quickly learned that cooking was definitely my thing,” Henning explained. “I moved here in 2009. Sue Brown was my Grandma and I cooked under Bob Brown at the Royal Loon. I learned so much from him. I also learned about meat cutting and how to make a pretty good steak from Donnie Fischer.”
