Junior Gabe Spittle, a sprinter, hurdler and pole vaulter on Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda’s boys’ track and field team, placed in four events at the nine-team Worthington Invitational held at Trojan Field last Thursday, April 26.

On a clear, cool and very windy day, Spittle sprinted to a second-place finish (among 41 competitors) in the 100-meter dash, clocked at 12.21 seconds. He placed third in the pole vault (9-0) and was seventh in both the 110-meter high hurdles (19.59) and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles (47.18) as he racked up a total of 18 points for the Coyotes.

HLOF also received a trio of individual placing performances from senior all-around athlete Matthias Kunerth and both Tyler Ackerman and Ryder Henning tied for seventh place in the pole vault.
