Morgan Gehl has always had a love for running. It seems to just come easy for her. Not only did she break a school record in the 3200 meter run she earned the opportunity to move on to State competition in the event on June 10-11.
Morgan has run the 3200 meter event three times this season under the 12 minute mark. She ran a personal best of 11:47.49 at the Trojan Relays to set a new Class A record.
On Friday, Morgan had the opportunity to run with a very competitive field of 3200 meter runners at the State level at Hamline University. The hot and humid weather put an extra strain on the competitors but Morgan managed to come in with a time of 12:17 to fall in the 16th position to cap off a very impressive season.
“Morgan was a joy to watch and had a great season,” says Coach Greg Erdmann.
