Girl Scouts present wood duck artwork to City of Fulda

Fulda Girl Scout Troop 37876 presented a piece of art to the city last Monday evening. It is a carefully created head of a wood duck that will be on display in the Council Chambers at Fulda City Hall.

Leaders Brittney Kramer and Heather Kirchner asked that Mayor Chad Ouellette, along with City Council members Jim Elsing and Ann Witzel, as well as City Clerk Julie Burchill, attend a presentation ceremony.

Girl Scouts who were present were Brie Kirchner, Emily Gass, Madilyn Kramer, Mercede Meier, and Annilee Burch. Missing were scouts Sophia Pearson and Zoe Nelson.

Leader Heather Kirchner explained that the girl scouts had been studying units on drawing and painting in an effort to earn their badges. Their focus was on realism and abstracts. What they learned was to experiment with different materials, how to add shading, about using perspective in their art work, about graphic artistry, and how to share their artwork.
