On a bright, sunny morning, Torrin Clarke of Fulda, along with the rest of his family, was out walking his 4-H Prospect Dairy Steer. The steer is just one of several projects that Clarke will be showing at this week’s Nobles County Fair.

Clarke will also be showing his purebred Nigerian Dwarf Goat, Lucy. He was one of three Nobles County 4-H members to receive a free goat from Ann Schieck-Solomon, and her husband, Kal, in memory of Ann’s daughter Shelby Shieck who passed away five years ago from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Clarke was chosen as one of the three winners of the goat after he wrote an essay for the Great Goat Giveaway. When asked what he wrote, Clarke said,  “That I like to show goats with my cousin  and I like animals and I like being on a farm and helping my grandpa with the animals.”
