It was a big night for junior guard Eli Fest, as the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes hosted the Edgerton Flying Dutchmen last Monday (February 3) in a Red Rock Conference high school boys’ basketball game in Fulda.
Fest scored a game-high 31 points and became the newest member of the 1,000-point club to lead the Coyotes to an 84-69 victory over the winless Flying Dutchmen.
Coming into the game with 972 points, Fest — who added six rebounds, five assists and four steals — scored his 1,000th career point on a backdoor cut along the baseline after taking a nice pass from teammate Brandon Hinkeldey at the 2:53 mark of the second half.
