HLO-Fulda athletes seeing benefits from merger

With spring sports now in full swing, the coaches and athletes at Heron Lake-Okabena Schools and Fulda High School are finding many good points from the sports athletic pairing.

Athletic Directors from HLO and Fulda, Jason Fisher and Colby Pack, have been working together to schedule games and practices. “Overall it has been going very good,” Fisher indicated.

With the assistance of the transportation supervisors from each school, scheduling has gone well. “The weather has definitely been an issue and making a mess of things at times,” Fisher added.

“Fortunately, the coaches that we have are not only very knowledgeable in their sports and coaching, but are also very understanding of what is going on and realize that changes occur and that planning needs to happen in advance and not spur of the moment,” Fisher said.
