Holiday fun at the Fulda Elementary School

It’s been going on all week…the students and staff at the Fulda Elementary School have got the spirit…the spirt of the Holidays that is.

Many activities have been enjoyed including Monday holiday sock day, Tuesday boys wear red and girls green day, Wednesday holiday shirt day, Thursday holiday hat day and Friday pajama day (I mean, why get dressed for 1/2 day of school, right?).

The staff also held their annual Ugly Sweater contest on Wednesday with 21 staff members participating. The staff had all day to vote with the winner being announced at 2:30 that same day.

Now many of us might argue that some of these sweaters weren’t ugly at all – just a bit over-festive. Principle Mike Pagel for instance wore his favorite sweater-vest complete with blinking lights on the bottom. Jill Madison’s Red Santa sweater was lovely. Kelli Johnson wore a red sweater that just happened to have a very happy Abominable Snowman on it. Grant Harms was dressed in a love sweatshirt complete with Santa and presents – it was a just a tad small for him! Andy Oakland’s Santa sweater highlighted his expanding ‘middle section’. And Lana Zins wore a very nice white sweater with trees and deer and bows and bulbs and bells and holly…

But the overall winner of the Ugly Sweater Contest this year was Sue Humphrey who took an everyday ‘normal’ sweater and wrapped herself in ribbons, bows, bells and ornaments. She topped off with a giant silver bow around her neck and snowman dangling from her ears.

Great job to the entire staff for getting into the fun of the holidays.
