Brian Lee Dierks passed away at Ava’s Hospice House in Sioux Falls South Dakota on December 29th 2018. He was born in Worthington Minnesota on April 5th 1968 to Arvin and Leona (Meier) Dierks. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and attended St.Paul’s Lutheran School through 8th grade. Brian graduated from Fulda High school in 1986. He attended Canby Vocational School and graduated in Diesel Mechanics. He worked for John Deere in Barnesville MN and Worthington MN before opening his own business in 1995.
Brian married Cindy Liester June 12th 1993 in Dell Rapids South Dakota. They were blessed with two sons Cole and Justin. They lived in Luverne and Fulda before moving to the family farm in 2006. Brian and Cindy farmed and operated Fulda Equipment Repair until he became ill in the spring of 2018.
Brian’s was happiest on the farm with family and friends. Brian could often be found in a tractor or fixing farm equipment. Since Brian was young he enjoyed fixing things or working with animals on the family farm. He also enjoyed restoring antique tractors and Chevy pickups. Brian always had a great sense of humor, a positive attitude as well as the ability to make people laugh in any situation.
Survivors include wife Cindy; sons Cole and Justin; parents Arvin and Leona Dierks; siblings Michael (Lynn) Dierks Worthington, Dean (Sonja) Dierks, Ayr Nebraska, Stacie (Jeremy) Eilers, Lincoln, Nebraska; nieces and nephews Mikaela (Gabriel) Penaredondo, Andrew (Julie) Dierks, (Brandon) Kristen Gruis, Brittany, Sydney, Kylie, Samuel Dierks and Kale Eilers; and father-in-law James Liester, Garretson SD.
Preceded in death by grandparents Theo and Martha Dierks, Herbert and Elsie Meier, and mother-in-law Helen Liester
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 2nd, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Fulda, Minnesota. Visitation Thursday, January 3rd, from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to funeral service at 10:30 am at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda, Minnesota, with Rev. Shawn Ethridge officiating. The organist is Tiffany Gehl. Interment will be at the Prairie Hill Cemetery in Fulda.
