In Memory of Doug Knutson

Doug Knutson, 77, of Fulda, Minnesota and previously of Iowa Falls, passed away at his home in Fulda on Tuesday, May 7th, 2019. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on June 8th at the Iowa Falls Community Theatre in Iowa Falls with burial in North Lawn Memory Gardens. The Surls Funeral Home of Iowa Falls is assisting the family.

Doug Kent Knutson was born on November 16, 1941 in Buckeye, Iowa to Orville and Lorine (Bishop) Knutson. He graduated from Iowa Falls High School and then from Ellsworth Community College. After college, Doug spent six years in the United States Army. On July 2, 1965, Doug was united in marriage to RuthAnn Pieper in Iowa Falls. He was a bookkeeper at the REC and went into farming in 1972 until his fulltime employment at Iowa Vet Supply where he retired from in 2008.

Doug is survived by his wife RuthAnn, his children Kevin Knutson of Worthington, MN, Robin (James) Gehl of Fulda, MN, Kelly (Jason) Sylvester of Greely, CO and Corrie (Mike) Orndorff of Oskaloosa, IA; his sisters Koleen (Larry) Batman of Kountze, TX, Sandra (Lev) Wagner of Maplewood, MN, Linda (Terry) Reed of Lakeland, FL and Chris (Bob) Harken of Maple Grove, MN, 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
