Harvey O’Dean Carroll, the son of John and Lillian (Knadle) Carroll, was born on May 12, 1948 in Willow Lake, SD. He grew up in Willow Lake and attended school, graduating from the Willow Lake High School. He then attended Dakota State College in Madison, SD. Harvey was united in marriage to Sharon McCullough on August 28, 1971 in Salem, SD. After their marriage they lived in Madison, SD, Sioux Falls, SD, Yankton, SD, Sioux City, IA, Garretson, SD before settling in Fulda, MN in 1980. He serves in the Army National Guard until 1976. Harvey was an elementary teacher in Garretson and Fulda and also coached for many years. Harvey passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda at the age of 71. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Fulda, MN where he had served as Trustee and on the Finance Council. Harvey also belonged to the ELKS, Fulda American Legion, MN Coaches Association and MN Education Association. He enjoyed golfing, pheasant hunting, fishing, gardening, playing cards, casino outings, watching sports, the Fulda Raiders and Marshall Tigers and especially his grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include his wife, Sharron Carroll of Fulda, MN; 3 sons, Chad (Julie) Carroll of Danvers, MN, Brad Carroll (special friend, Jillian Hyland) of Carver, MN and Travis (Emily) Carroll of Marshall, MN; 3 grandchildren and 2 brothers, Laurin (Rose) Carroll of Luverne, MN and Russell Carroll of Aberdeen, SD. He is preceded in death by his parents brothers, Jack (Fern) Carroll, Gene Carroll, David Carroll, Douglas Carroll and sister-in-law, Burnadette Carroll.
Funeral Services at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Fulda, MN at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 28, 2019 with Rev. Karla Kirkeby officiating. The organist is Roxanne Kremer. Interment at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery rural Fulda, MN.
