In memory of James Troje

1945-JAMES TROJE-2019

James Richard Troje, the son of Alice Susmilch, was born on July 8, 1945 in St. Paul, MN. As a child he spent many years in California and graduated from Central High School in St. Paul in 1963. Jim enlisted into the U.S. Amy following high school where he spent a year in Sinop, Turkey and two years in Tokyo, Japan. James was united in marriage to Edythe Stoltz in St. Paul. After their marriage they lived in St. Paul, where Jim worked for 30 years as a police officer for the St. Paul Police Department. After retiring in September of 1996 they made their home in Lindstrom, MN for many years before moving to Fulda, MN. Jim passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the Murray County Hospice Home in Slayton, MN at the age of 74. He was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda. He was also a past member of the Fulda City Council, Fulda Lions Club, Fulda Ambulance, Fulda Community Club and a Fulda Cannoneer. Jim was also a member of the Fulda VFW and American Legion, where he had served as Commander. He enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, fishing, hunting and camping. Jim was known for his love of capturing family moments through home videos and photos. One of James greatest joys in life were his 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Edythe Troje; 3 children, Roxanne (Paul) Kenney, Rachelle (Greg) Hayslett and Richard (Becky) Troje; 4 grandchildren, Taylor, Allison, Andrew and Brittany; brother, Michael (Judy) Troje; sister, Kathy (Al) Schwegel and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral Servicesat St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting officiating.  The organist is Mary Ann Boom. The song leader is Sheila Crowley. Interment at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery Fulda, MN.
