Lois Inez Teerink, age 90, of Worthington, died Tuesday August 20th, 2019, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda MN, surrounded by her family.
She was born September 30, 1928, in George IA, to Antone and Marjorie (Howland) Cassens.
Lois married Howard Teerink on March 30th 1950, in George IA, they just celebrated 69 years of marriage. Howard and Lois moved to Worthington where they raised their family. Lois was a life long member of the American Reformed Church. She was a active volunteer in the kitchen for Vocational Bible School for many years. Serving the Lord was top priority to her and she was strong in her faith while lending a helping hand when the Lord needed her to.
Some of Lois favorite hobbies were reading, camping, crocheting and she enjoyed making blankets for her grand children. Lois loved her sports she was avid Minnesota Twins and Viking fan she rarely missed a game. Family was very important to her; she enjoyed the holidays and talking on the phone.
Lois is survived by her husband, Howard Teerink, Fulda; six children, Barbara Pelkey, Sioux Falls, SD; Marvin Teerink, Apache Junction, AZ; Laurinda Teerink, Chippewa Falls, WI; Curtis (Lucinda) Teerink, Eau Claire, WI; Galen (Ann) Teerink, Chippewa Falls, WI; and James (Cindy) Teerink, Rushmore; eighteen grandchildren, Betsy (Arlen) Heesch, Paul Feit, Jon (Jamie) Feit, Katrina (fiancée, Brian) Feit, Ryan Feit, Seth Feit, Stephanie Jo (Dean) Thompson, Kathryn Pelkey, Ray (Krista) Teerink, Arlyn Teerink, Tiffany (Eric) Stoll, Bryce Toenies, Dana Toenies, Nicole Toenies, Amber Teerink, Chad (Stephanie) Teerink, Mariah Teerink and Lexy Teerink; twenty two great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; a sister, Luetta Braun, Rock Rapids, IA; and a brother, Robert Cassens, Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Arlyn in 1961; a son-in-law, Jesse Pelkey; two infant great-grandchildren, Jamie Jo Heesch and Chance Toenies; a great-granddaughter, Ashley Heesch; a sister, Lorraine (Rod) Lawrence; three brothers, Ardell (Carole), Marlo and Wayne Cassens; and a sister-in-law, Linda Cassens.
Funeral was held at 10:30 am Saturday at the American Reformed Church, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Tim Truesdell. Burial in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
