In memory of Rodney Miranowski

1937-RODNEY MIRANOWSKI-2019

Rodney Allen Miranowski was born on September 17, 1937 on the family farm north of Heron Lake, Minnesota to Anton and Margaret Schaffer Miranowski.  He grew up on the farm and graduated from Heron Lake High School in 1955.  Following high school Rodney farmed with his father, Anton.  On May 28, 1960 he and Cleo Kass were married at St. Mary’s Church in Dundee, MN.  Following their marriage they made their home in the Twin Cities for two years.  They then moved to the family farm near Heron Lake and raised their four children.  Rodney worked for Ag Chemical in Jackson until 2006 when he was stricken with a paralyzing stroke.  Due to his stroke Rodney became a resident of the Windom Good Samaritan Society where he passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the age of 82.  He was a life long member of Sacred Heart Church in Heron Lake where was baptized, confirmed, was an Altar Server and sang in the church choir.  Rodney’s pride and joy was his family and the time spent together.

Survivors include his wife, Cleo Miranowski of Heron Lake, MN, four children and their spouses, Mark and Kari Miranowski of Andover, MN, Troy and Lisa Miranowski of Coon Rapids, MN, Tori Ann Clunis of Ramsey, MN, and Luke and Kassie Miranowski of Elk River, MN, ten grandchildren, Zachary, Cody, Adam and Shane Miranowski, Anthony (Jenny) Miranowski, Connor (Meagan) Miranowski, and Tayhler Miranowski, Paige and Brock Clunis, and Maverick Miranowski, four great-grandchildren Bayleigh, Charlie, and Madison Miranowski, and Levi Miranowski, three siblings, Diane Hacking of Sioux Falls, SD, Dean Miranowski of Goddard, KS and Denis Miranowski of Sioux Falls, SD, one brother-in-law, Tom Christensen and his wife Karen of Hurley, SD, and many nieces and nephews and their families.  He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mary Lou Christensen, and one sister-in-law, Mary Ann Miranowski.

Memorial Services were held at Sacred Heart Church in Heron Lake, MN on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Pratap Reddy Salibindla officiating with music by the Sacred Heart Choir and special music by his grandchildren, Connor Miranowski and Tayhler Miranowski.  The honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren.  Interment is at Sacred Heart Cemetery in rural Heron Lake, MN.  In lieu of flowers, memorial’s maybe directed to the Sacred Heart Church Renovation Fund.
