In memory of Ronald Ebeling

  Ronald Wayne Ebeling, age 75, of rural Brewster, died Friday, September 15, 2017, at his home. He was born June 22, 1942, in Wadena, to Alvin and Eleanore (Casper) Ebeling. Ron was baptized on July 19, 1942, in Wadena; and confirmed on April 29, 1956, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brewster. In 1947, at the age of five, Ron moved with his family to Brewster. He graduated from Brewster High School and later attended Worthington Community College. Ron entered the United States Army on January 1, 1962. He served his country until October of 1963, and later served in the Worthington Army Reserve from 1965 to 1967.

   Ron married Annette Lorenz on August 12, 1967, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. The couple lived south of Brewster for a year before moving to the farm north of Brewster in March of 1969.

   He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served as an Elder, Congregation President and taught Sunday School. He was a current member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Fulda, where he served as an Elder. He was also a member of the Brewster American Legion and New Vision Elevator Board. Ron was a car enthusiast. He loved building and repairing things in his shop. He enjoyed boating, waterskiing and woodworking.

   Ron is survived by his wife, Annette Ebeling, rural Brewster; mother, Eleanore Ebeling, Worthington; two children, Greg (Joan) Ebeling, Pella, IA; and Renae (Brian) Behrends, Wallingford, IA; five grandchildren, Emily (Caleb) Lee, Whitney Ebeling, Eli Ebeling, Antawn Weg and Elle Weg; great granddaughter, Sophia Grace Lee; two step grandchildren, Emily & Caitlyn Behrends; and a sister, Janice (Dick) Pomerenke, Windom.

   He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Alvin C. Ebeling.

   Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, in Fulda, officiated by Pastor Shawn Ethridge. Burial with full military honors provided by the Brewster American Legion will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Brewster.
