In Memory of Stella Heimendinger

1924-STELLA HEIMENDINGER-2017

Stella Heimendinger, the daughter of John and Mary (Hromatka) Maciolek, was born on April 10, 1924 in Jackson Co., MN. She grew up on farms in the Jackson and Cottonwood counties and Slayton and Currie areas before they settled down south of Avoca, MN. She attended Bondin Country School and the Slayton High School. Stella was united in marriage to Dean Heimendinger on April 17, 1941 in Marshall, MN. After their marriage they lived in Fulda until they moved to Lamberton in 1958. They were divorced in 1964 and she then moved to St. Paul where she lived until 1989 when she moved to Worthington. Stella moved to Fulda in 2000 and in 2011 she entered the Maple Lawn Nursing home where she passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the age of 92. She was a member of St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church in Fulda. Stella enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles and crafts. She also liked sewing and crocheting.

Survivors include her son, Gene Lee Heimendinger of Austin, TX; son-in-law, Gene Kieper of Bayport, MN; grandson, Keith Heimendinger of Austin, TX; 3 sisters, Agnes Morley of Bemidji, MN, Mary Davy of Shoreview, MN and RoseMary Schweigert of Fulda, MN; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Gary Heimendinger, daughter, Sharon Kieper, 4 brothers, John, Lenard, Frank and Leo and sister, Gladys.

The funeral was held at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 11, 2017 with Msgr. R. Paul Heiting celebrating.  The organist is Mary Ann Boom. The song leader is Sheila Crowley. The honorary pallbearers are her nieces and nephews. Interment at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Cemetery Fulda, MN.
