Stena Goedtke age 83, of Comfrey, MN and formerly of Fulda died on April 20, 2017, in rural Comfrey, MN.
Service were held at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda, on Monday at 11:00 am. The clergy was Rev. Shawn Ethridge. Interment at the Immanuel American Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fulda.

Stena Goedtke, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 at rural Comfrey, MN. Stena Wagner was born to Melchert and Adelia Wagner on July 11, 1933 on a farm near Rushmore, MN. She grew up on the farm and attended rural school, graduating at age 12. Following her schooling she began working for families in the area helping out as needed.
Stena was united in marriage to Ervin C. Goedtke at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN on September 8, 1954. Following their marriage, Ervin and Stena lived on the family farm 7 miles south of Fulda. She enjoyed raising chickens, gardening, crocheting, and playing cards and games with friends and family. She was quick-witted and had a joke to go along with any story. Stena especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and was interested in their lives and what they were doing. Stena continued to live on the farm following her husband’s death, with her dog Spot, until 2011, when she moved in with her son, David and family where she resided until her death.
Survivors include seven children, Donald (Sarah) Goedtke, Louella (Charlie) Moe, Rosella (Marc) Luther, Steven (Kristen) Goedtke, David (Kathleen) Goedtke, Garret (Deb) Goedtke, Elizabeth (Troy) Stapek; son-in-law Doug (Marge) DeBoer; two sisters, Henrietta (Norman) Duerr and Adeline (Dale) Isaacs, sister-in-law, LaVonne Wagner and brother-in-law, Raymond Goedtke. Thirty-one grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin; daughter, Susan DeBoer; granddaughters, Terri Aman and Emily Goedtke; grandson, Gabriel Goedtke; her parents, Melchert and Adelia Wagner; brothers, Tom, John, Melvin, and infant twin brothers; sisters, Tena Schuller and Margaret Duin, and son-in-law, Warren Aman.
