An Invention Convention was held on the third floor of Fulda Elementary School on Tuesday afternoon. The third grade students had been studying about inventions and patents. Teacher Abby Hayenga instructed the students to create their own invention and share it with their classmates, schoolmates, and family.
Miss Hayenga stated, “Students were to create an invention for our Invention Convention. This was brought about by our science unit on inventions and inventors, in which the students looked into the invention process, different inventors who shaped history, and how patents worked. With our month long unit the students looked at inventors like, The Wright Brothers, Thomas Edison, Eli Whitney, and Henry Ford, to just name a few.”
The students were to write a proposal as to why their invention would solve a problem in our society today. Patent certificates were received from Fulda Elementary School principal, Mike Pagel, and Miss Hayenga to move the student forward in creating their invention.
