“We took a Care of Creation course while we were students at Luther Seminary,” explained Luke Hollander. Then engaged to Lisa Janke, the couple took the course and spent “an intensive weekend” at Shalom Hill Farm.
Now married, Luke and Lisa have returned to Shalom Hill Farm, where they are the Co-Executive Directors at the retreat located near Windom. “We’re living simply and mindfully in the presence of the Lord, to care for each other and all creation in a better way,” Lisa pointed out.
After completing their schooling at Luther Seminary, the couple were married and moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where Lisa was from. Lisa was doing her internship there to become a pastor, and the couple had their daughter Adeline. “We felt pretty settled there,” Lisa added. “We thought we’d be there for a while.”
