Jackson County Central scored nine runs in the second inning in a high school baseball game at Heron Lake last Monday (May 7) and cruised to a high-scoring 24-9 victory over Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda.
Later in the week (Thursday, May 10), the Coyotes hosted Mountain Lake Area in a Red Rock Conference doubleheader, which was moved up a day from its revamped scheduled date — due to Friday’s expected steady rainfall.
The Wolverines, who represent Mountain Lake, Comfrey and Mountain Lake Christian, were able to sweep HLOL by scores of 10-0 and 8-1.
The Coyotes were rained out at Slayton Monday (May 14) and will make up that conference doubleheader Thursday before traveling to Glenville for a non-conference clash on Friday, May 18. The regular-season wraps up next week with a home game against Tracy-Milroy-Balaton on Monday and a trip to St. James on Tuesday, May 22.
