A little rain again causing a halt in the harvest. There has been a lot of beans taken out over the weekend. Monday’s rain has held it up. The leaves are starting to turn and pumpkins are appearing all over as a fall decoration. It’s time to visit you favorite apple orchard to pick your own or grab a bag of your favorite apples, along with all the other choices of seasonal delights, the kids will love the experience.
You have about four weeks to participate in a hard earned event that effects our daily lives every day. Voting is your right. So is not voting, but why leave the outcome to others. Knowing the candidates is our responsibility and should be for an informed choice. You can vote for someone or against them but know why. If you are just checking boxes, then I would suggest you stay home. There are a lot of good people willing to work for the good of the public and that will directly effect you with services and taxes to support it. We could be talking City Council, School Board or County Commissioners that may directly effect your daily lives. Each candidate brings something to the table, some more than others and it’s your job (right ) to know what it is. It could be the new guy or the incumbent, him or her, the young or old that could serve your community needs the best. Look at their accomplishments, look at their potential. It’s your right and your choice.
County Sheriff is a little different in that it is a full time job of upholding the law and providing public assistance, protection from natural disasters and the forces of evil. A sheriff commands a large budget, a huge responsibility and a workforce of size. It’s your job to know who will do you the best job in that capacity.

I gave my father $100 and said, “Buy yourself something that will make your life easier.”
So he went out and bought a present for my mother.
