Jerry’s Jottings 10-4-2107

The harvest ground to a complete stop this week with the rain. The amount was projected to be three or more inch’s. Soybeans was the main crop harvested up to this weekends rain. Sump pumps were in full use to keep basements as dry as possible. Out door projects were canceled. The rain was off and on Sunday and Monday with Monday night turning to a almost steady rain. Three plus inches were forecast and it seems we will have that and more. By next month we will run the risk of snow and ice. The thought of cold weather is less appealing every year. I don’t see myself moving south but nothing can be certain.

This guy wanted a boat more than anything. His wife kept refusing, but he bought one anyway. “I’ll tell you what,” he told her. “In the spirit of compromise, why don’t you name the boat?”

Being a good sport, she accepted. When her husband went to the dock for his maiden voyage, this is the name he saw painted on the side: “For Sale”
