Jerry’s Jottings

Last Friday evening’s weather warning of 60 to 80 mile an hour winds with rain came in strong and swept thru the area. Fulda’s inflatabljerry 6167es, ready for a night of fun, came down fast with a one hour warning and the park was emptied of people that were there for the BBQ and music. One to two inches of rain was reported around the county on Friday. No serious damage except for trees and branches. Friday night was a bust, but the rest of the weekend went well.

It’s hard to believe that the month of June is running short. The big celebration of July 4 is coming fast. Let it be a safe one.

The gardens are doing well and are progressing at a rate that is almost equal to the weeds. Cucumbers are blooming and my onions are looking good. The neighbors cabbage are almost ready, but my carrots have little hope for success. How does your garden grow? I am successful in raising that endangered Milkweed plant and have more than my share, so if you would need seeds later this Summer for the next season, please ask. The Monarch butterfly will appreciate the effort.

One evening I was in a bar talking to my friend.

“Last night, while I was out drinking, a burglar broke into my house..”

“Did he get anything?” asked my friend.

“Yes,” I said.

“A broken jaw, six teeth knocked out, and a pair of broken ribs. My wife thought it was me coming home drunk!”

The easiest way to get one’s ideas accepted is to lay them softly before others to pick up and claim as their own.
