Jerry’s Jottings 5-9-2018

The tulips will burst into bloom this week. It’s been a long time coming.

May is pet month and it is also the year of the dog. Armed with that knowledge I casually brought up the subject of getting another dog. I had it all planned out, artfully picking each word for a very sound discussion on the value of having a four legged friend looking over the homestead everyday. I was brilliant in the presentation, I thought. I was wrong. In twenty seconds, I received twenty reasons why we are not getting another dog. No room for discussion. It is painful with the thought of going dog less. I will bring it up again in a few weeks, it might fly. Or I might be flown.

A man went in to a restaurant and ordered alphabet soup. The man’s alphabet soup was in front of him when a bee went inside.

The man cried out, “Waiter, Waiter, there’s a bee in my alphabet soup!”

The waiter said, “Yes, sir, and I believe all the other letters are there too.”

As the bus pulled away, a woman realized she had left her purse under the seat. Later she called the company and was relieved to find out the driver had found it. When she went to pick it up, several off-duty bus drivers greeted her.

One of the men handed over her handbag and a box. “We’re required to inventory found wallets and purses,” he explained. “I think you’ll find everything here.”

As she started to put her belongings back into the purse, the man continued, “I hope you don’t mind if we watch. Even though we all tried, none of us could fit everything into your purse… and we’d like to see just HOW you do it.”
