John Maertens, Director of the Murray County Developmental Achievement Center, Slayton and Fulda, has announced his retirement as of Friday, July 29th.
Maertens was hired in 1983 as the assistant director for the Murray County DAC and in 1986 accepted the position of director. He had previously worked at New Dawn, Inc.
Murray County DAC offers day training and habilitation for adults with developmental disabilities. The program teaches life skills and provides participation in community activities, as well as survival skills, money management and activities to live more independently.
