It’s a new name, but definitely not a new face, at Julie’s Place, located on St. Paul Avenue, Fulda. On July 31st of this year, Ivan Hakeneis sold Ivy’s Tavern to his business manager, Julie Chapman. Recently Julie hung her new sign in the entryway to Julie’s Place.

Julie’s Place is open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 4 p.m. On Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, the doors open at 11 a.m.  On Sundays  the business opens at noon.

“Our menu is pretty much typical bar food including chicken, burgers, steak tips, shrimp, pizza, and lots of different appetizers,” Chapman stated.

Chapman started working at the bar when it was under the ownership of Troy Reed and called Good Times Bar and Grill. She became the manager of Ivy’s Tavern in 2010 and has worked at the bar for almost sixteen years. Prior to working in Fulda, Chapman worked at the Worthington Travel Plaza, Page 1 Printers, and Fulda Area Credit Union, Worthington.

“I grew up in Worthington, the 8th of nine children,” Chapman shared. “I have two children of my own. My daughter, Tasha Manning, lives in Wichita, Kansas and is the mother of three girls. My son, Kenny Deuschle, lives in Sioux Falls and works at Ravens Industries. He has one little girl. So, I am grandma to four little girls.”
