St. Kilian Catholic Church in St. Kilian, Minnesota has been in existence from 1887 to the present, 129 total years.  Parishioners during all those years have been very proud of their little country church.  They have been involved in many major changes that all Catholic churches have gone through and have managed to maintain that pride and have followed their faith journey.

In 1887 German Catholic residents in the northern part of Nobles County decided it was time to build a church since the closest Catholic Church was in Adrian.  Money was raised and St. Kilian Church was built in section 27 of Wilmont Township.  It served as both a church and a school, with classes held in the sacristry of the church.  A separate school was built in 1894.
