Wanda Daniels, Vice President and Vice President of Consumer Lending at Fulda Area Credit Union, has announced her retirement. Her last official day at FACU will be Friday, March 29th. She has worked as a lending office at the credit union for the past seventeen years.
Daniels grew up on a farm near Lake Wilson. She is a graduate of Lake Wilson High School. Following graduation, she worked part-time at the cafe and also for Barry Construction doing office work.
In the fall of 1971, she began working at the First National Bank in Lake Wilson, MN.
In August of 1974, she married Tim Daniels.
After their marriage, they moved to a farm site near Badger Lake, and Wanda accepted a position as head teller at People’s State Bank. “It was a decision based on the fact that I would be able to work closer to home that prompted me to apply for the job at People’s State Bank. They asked me to be the head teller because I had done the work at Lake Wilson. They trained me to be back-up on bookkeeping. I was interviewed by Ken Onken and Jerry Wendorf. I remember that my very first customer was Dr. Bader,” Daniels stated. “
People’s State Bank was purchased by Farmers State Bank and then United Prairie Bank, and then First National Bank.
