Remember the excitement and anticipation on Christmas morning? Six Murray County 4-H Clubs are doing their share to see that some families experience just that. Badger Lake, Cameron, Chandler Hilltoppers, Currie Poco-a-Poco, Fenton Friends, and Lakers 4-H Clubs donated cash to purchase gifts for the Angel Tree Project that provides gifts for youth ages 12-18. 4-H’ers wrapped these gifts that will be presented to Nikki Cheskie, founder of Hearts and Hands of Murray County and the Angel Tree Project that honors Anita Ackerman. These 4-H’ers came together for a LEAP (Leadership: Explore All the Possibilities) event at the Murray County 4-H Building. They literally took the 4-H pledge and experienced Head, Heart, Hands and Health by doing this service project as well as other activities.
The following 4-H members participated in the event and helped to wrap gifts: Macy Posthuma, Landon Beek, Makayla Rhodes and Maggie Heezen, Cameron 4-H Club; Caleb Ethridge and Ethan Johnson, Bondin Belfast 4-H Club; and Kirsti Guttelvik and Adalie Doelle, Slayton Shooting Stars 4-H Club.
