McNab fires in 13 points in 34-25 C-Squad victory

Freshman Gunner McNab scored a team-high 13 points and was one of five Coyotes to make a three-point shot in a 34-25 Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda C-Squad boys’ basketball victory at Granada last Tuesday, December 17.

Improving to 2-2 for the season, the C-Squad boys built a 20-12 halftime lead against the combined program of Truman, Martin Luther (at Northrop) and Granada-Huntley-East Chain. The Coyotes maintained their lead, outscoring the Jaguars 14-13 in the second half and earning their nine-point win.

Freshman Aiden Lang drilled a pair of three-pointers, and four others — McNab, sophomore Preston Christoffers, freshman Ethan Nielsen and sophomore Dan Najera — also connected from long range as the Coyotes made six-of-19 shots (31.6 percent) from behind the arc.

McNab netted five of the team’s eight two-point field goals (eight-of-24 for 33.3 percent). Christoffers, sophomore Evan Madsen and freshman Rylan Klein each scored one two-point basket for the Coyotes.

Lang (six), Christoffers (five), Najera (three), Nielsen (three), Madsen (two) and Klein (two) combined to score 21 of HLOF’s points.

The Coyotes did not make a free throw, going zero-of-six at the line.
