On Saturday, February 4, 2017, the 3rd Annual Memorial Run was held in Kirstin (Ommen) Crowell’s memory at the Heron Lake Liquor Store. The event was sponsored by the Big Bend Snow Riders. All proceeds from the Memorial Run event were donated to the Brown County Yellow Ribbon Scoiety. Kirstin’s husband, Abe Crowell, along with Kirstin’s parents, Ricki and Lori Ommen, presented the donation. It is important to them, as Kirsitin’s husband and parents, that others realize there is help and hope for those who are contemplating suicide and for those who have lost someone to suicide. ‘Together we can spread the message that there are people who care as well as the message of HOPE.
The donation amount totaled $1,525.00 this year. Due to lack of snow, the snowmobile run was not held, just the free will offering for the meal and a split the pot raffle. Kelly Rashe won the split the pot and donated it back to BCYRSPP.
