Murphy, Strandberg lead HLOF B-Squad boys to 49-37 victory Coyotes sink 16-of-24 free throws in win over Windom

Making 16-of-24 free throws and knocking down seven 3-pointers, the Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda B-Squad boys basketball team earned an exciting 49-37 victory over Windom last Thursday evening (December 12) at Fulda.

The Coyotes jumped out to a 20-12 halftime lead on the Eagles and then held off a surging Windom rally in a higher-scoring second half.

Parker Murphy (15 points) and Jaeden Strandberg (13 points) were both lights out at the free throw line for Coyotes down the stretch. Murphy swished five-of-six, while Strandberg made four-of-five. Paul Salentiny was a perfect four-of-four as those three guards combined to net 13-of-15 free throw attempts, which is a very good 86.7 percent.

In addition to the combined 28 points from Murphy and Strandberg, the Coyotes also received nine points from Logan Erdmann, six from Salentiny, four from Tyson Cotter and two from Dylan Freking, along with stellar post defense and rebounding from Gage Freking.

Strandberg (three), Murphy (two) and Erdmann (two) combined to drill HLOF’s seven 3-point shots.

Winning its second straight game, the Coyote B-Squad improved to 2-2 for the season.
