Murray County Commissioners Board set final net levy at 4.65% for 2018

The Murray county Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, December 19. Auditor/Treasurer Heidi Winter presented the ditch bills. The first was the county’s share of professional services provided by I & S Group of an appeal on Judicial #3 of $1,803.50. Commissioners Gunnink and Kluis abstained from voting. Bolton & Menk provided improvement engineering for JD #8 and county Ditch 22, LJG Backhoe – CD #62, Onken Backhoe JD #3 and Spartz & Sons Well Company CD #54 were also approved for payment. Rinke Noonan, Attorneys at Law, monthly retainer fee and emergency reroute around State Hwy 30 County Ditch #11 was approved.

A public hearing was set for January 2, 2018 at 10:15 a.m. for abandonment on Murray County Ditch 68 Branch B in Slayton Township.

The board set the final net levy at $7,043,080 for 2018. The net increase will be 4.65 percent.

The LGA, local government aid, has not been finalized as yet.

Joe Schreier was awarded the contract for the construction project at the government center. New handicap door entrance and closet space will be part of the project. The work will be done by May 1, 2018.
