The Murray County Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, August 21st.
Heidi Winter, auditor-treasurer, commented everything went really well in the primary – especially with the new equipment. Election day registrations were up at the primary held on August 14th. Winter said there were 114 registrations – which means new voters who weren’t in the system.
Winter presented the ditch bills and warrants for payment – all were approved. Winter presented the 2000 Chrysler Town and Country van as surplus and suggested selling at the upcoming Highway 59 Auction. This also was approved by the Board.
Aurora Heard presented a cleaning position for the highway department. The Board authorized advertising for a contract person to clean. In addition the Board gave approval to advertise for regular part time dispatcher (24 hours per week). The current one will be going to school. Included also was approval to advertise for a regular full-time deputy sheriff. The Board also agreed to move two part time deputies (Devin Gillette and Ryan Baker, currently working full time hours, to full time status.
