Treasurer/Auditor Heidi Winter was on hand to review auditor warrants as well as ditch bills. She also shared the county has received 15 precinct counters as part a grant the county received. “This will save so much time at the end of the day,” stated Winter. “It will also help alleviate voter error as the tabulator will beep if something isn’t right.” In addition these precincts will now only have to transport a thumb drive versus hand counting the ballots and then preparing a summary statement to bring the courts building in addition to having to run those ballots thru a ballot counter.

Winter also shared information regarding a subordination agreement with Michelle Garza. The agreement is a small cities development program owner-occupied rehabilitation program loan. This loan was taken out in 2011 and is forgiven after 10 years if the owner remains in the home. Ten percent of the principal is forgiven annual. It is part of the Murray County Small Cities Development Program for home fix up of owner-occupied homes. The board approved the subordination agreement.

The board also approved the second half of the Murray County Fair appropriation.

Justin Hoffmann appeared before the board to share the county was awarded an Outdoor Recreation Grant through the DNR. The grant amount is $101,700 with a local match of $101,700.
