The Murray County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, September 26. Ditch bills were presented by Heidi Winter, auditor/treasurer. Six open ditches were sprayed in the east part of the county by B&W Control Specialists. Spraying was done with a four wheeler and not the helicopter as in the past. It appears to have accomplished its goal. Another part of the county will done next year.
Winter reviewed the proposed budget for next year. Several items were added such as the proposed building and architect fees at the highway department, parks improvement for Lime Lake Park at Avoca and rent for the A.C.E. offices.
Howard Konkol, ditch inspector, presented three ditches for repair. County Ditch #11, Section 23 Leeds Township was approved for camera inspection to determine location of tile lines and conditions before the solar garden is built. Petitions for County Ditch #68 Section 21, Slayton Township and CD #29 Section 25 & 26 Shetek Township were tabled for more information.
