A SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE MURRAY COUNTY BOARD

June 4, 2019 8:30 a.m. Pursuant to notice, the Murray County Board of Commissioners convened with the following members present: Commissioners Gunnink, Jens, Kluis, Thiner, and Welgraven. Also present were Travis Smith and Amy Rucker.

MSP to approve the agenda as modified.

MSP to approve the minutes from the May 28, 2019 meeting.

MSP and carried that all claims as presented were approved for payment. The Chairman was authorized to sign the Audit List dated June 4, 2019 with fund totals as follows and warrants numbered 159256 through 159307 and ET 60698 (MCIT):

County Revenue Fund 18,102.83

County Road & Bridge Fund 27,527.74

EDA 72.54

Ditch 19.98

Self Insurance 1,068.00

Sunrise Terrace 1,120.55

Total 47,911.64

MSP to approve ditch contractor bills for County Ditches No. 20, 23 and Judicial Ditches No. 14, 20A totaling $8,935.60

MSP to approve ditch inspection report for County Ditches No. 35, 43, 53 and Judicial Didtches No. 03, 12.

MSP to approve the Commissioner Vouchers for the period of May 19, 2019 to June 1, 2019.

MSP to accept PR#7, from Sussner Construction and CBS Squared, Inc. in the amount of $5,130.00 to construct two rooms in the County Administrators office space.

MSP to approve attendance of all members of the Board at a public meeting with Senator Bill Weber and Representative Joe Schomacker on June 6, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the 4-H Building regarding the closure of the Slayton Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

MSP to approve sending a letter to Geronimo Energy from the Board Chair and Planning Commission Chair regarding a proposed amendment to required setbacks for wind turbines from wetland types III, IV, and V.

MSP to approve attendance of all members of the Board at the Public Hearing for Review of Ordinances on June 24, 2019 at 7 p.m. in the Commissioners Meeting Room of the Murray County Government Center.

MSP to add an additional condition: The Applicant must work with Murray Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) to comply with the Wetland Conservation Act and the attached Technical Evaluation Panel (EP) Findings Report.

MSP to approve Conditional Use Permit #1362 for Central Specialties to open and operate an excavation pit in the Agriculture and Shoreland Districts, in the NE1/4, Section 24, Cameron Township, with the eight special conditions recommended by the Planning Commission and the aforementioned additional condition.

MSP to approve sending a letter to the Shetek Area Lakes Association (SALA) from Commissioner Gunnink and Commissioner Jens requesting a written list of SALA goals and objectives.

MSP to approve the purchase of new fish tanks for the horticulture building from Midwest Custom Aquariums using funds from the AIS account in the amount of $15,320, further moving to spend the remaining $2,680 of AIS funds budgeted for this project on updating the lighting for the tanks, pouring concrete in the old fish tank area, and installing and painting the wall behind the tanks.

MSP to permit Minnwest Bank to rent the 4-H Building on August 21 for an ice cream social.

MSP to hire Peschges Tree Service to cut down 7 trees and remove stumps at East Lake Sarah Park for a cost of $2,800.00.

There was no one present for Open Forum.

MSP to contract with Dunham Associates, Inc. for $10,000 to perform an HVAC assessment in the Government Center building.

MSP to accept the quote of $48,797 from Tri-State General Contracting to make repairs to the food service building, further moving that the Building Committee work with the contractor to identify deductions to reduce the project cost. The motion failed

MSP to solicit bids for a new steel roof on the Food Service building.
