A SUMMARY OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE MURRAY COUNTY BOARD

May 28, 2019 8:30 a.m. Pursuant to notice, the Murray County Board of Commissioners convened with the following members present: Commissioners Gunnink, Jens, Kluis, Thiner, and Welgraven. Also present were Travis Smith and Amy Rucker.

MSP to approve the agenda as modified.

MSP to approve the minutes from the May 21, 2019 meeting with corrections.

MSP to approve ditch contractor bills for Judicial Ditch No. 3 totaling $8,545.00.

MSP to approve ditch contractor bills for County Ditches No. 22, 65 and Judicial Ditches No. 5, 23 totaling $6,915.93.

MSP to authorize an expenditure of $9.281.01 to Randy’s Floor Covering for installing new carpet in the hallways and commons area of the Courts Building.

MSP to approve ditch inspection report for County Ditches No. 42, 43, 43A, 44, 51, 72 and Judicial Ditches No. 7, 15, 20.

MSP and carried to approve the necessary repairs in Petition 2019-036 (JD 14, Chanarambie Twp. Sec. 14, District 2 – Gunnink).

MSP and carried to approve the necessary restoration repairs in Petition 2019-037 (CD 87, Lake Sarah Twp. Sec. 36, District 2 – Gunnink) to restore the ditch back to the original “as built” plans, further moving to bill the cost to the party/parties responsible for making unauthorized modifications to the drainage system.

MSP to permit the Slayton Area Chamber of Commerce to rent the 4-H Building on June 14th to host a meal for the public in honor of Flag Day.

MSP to set a fine and bail schedule amount of $100 for each Parks Ordinance violation.

MSP to accept the resignation of Robert Miller, Parks Maintenance Worker, effective May 28, 2019.

MSP to authorize the recruitment process for a Parks Maintenance Worker.

MSP to hire C. Vandekieft – Seasonal Museum Assistant.

Open Forum/Public Comment – Brad Pagel was present for Open Forum

MSP to approve payment of Murray County’s 2019 Buffalo Ridge Drug Task Force per capita appropriation of $32,549.40 (population of 8,346 x $3.90).

M to authorize beginning the recruitment process for an Intermittent Deputy Sheriff. The motion failed with a roll call vote.
