The Murray County Board of Commissioners met on Tuesday, March 28.
Auditor/Treasurer Heidi Winter presented the ditch bills for payment. All were approved except a bill on Judicial Ditch #12 that is in both Nobles County and Murray County. County Attorney Travis Smith was instructed to communicate by letter with Nobles County concerning the repair before Murray County agrees to the payment. Murray County is requesting a meeting of the counties for clarification of the petition and repair of the ditch.
Howard Konkol, ditch inspector, introduced Don Reffer, of B & W Control Specialist’s, Algona, Iowa. Reffer explained the process of controlling brush and trees in the open ditches and the products used. The board approved the spraying of the open ditches by B & W Control Specialists.
