Murray County Commissioners Snowmobile maintenance grant accepted

Murray county Board of Commissioners met on October 3. The warrants were approved for payment and there were no bills at this time.

The board accepted the 2018 Snowmobile Maintenance Grant Agreement for $30,385.38.  The funds will be used to provide maintenance and grooming of the Beaver Creek Trail/Slayton Driftbreakers Snowmobile Association.

County recorder Evie Larson spoke to the board about the mortgage registration tax. Murray County receives only three percent or $67.44 of the amount collected. After July l the state will take 100 percent which is then distributed to the counties. There is a need for  a higher evaluation of certain properties. She encouraged the board to talk to their legislatures about this and it is on their agenda for the annual AMC conference in December.

CEO Dennis Goebel, updated the board on the Murray County Medical Center. Numbers were lower in the August report which is typical this time of the year although actual numbers were higher in most cases than a year ago. Accounts receivable were down to 52 days. Several goals have been identified for the hospital. l. To increase cash on hand, merging the clinic and hospital records, new software for the merging to be live on October 31, registration process streamlined, etc. The Foundation Gala will be held on October 27 at Key  Largo.
