The Murray County Fair is announcing a change to the 5K/1M Run/Walk event for 2019. This year it will be the KICK OFF event for the fair to encourage a fun family gathering before the fair officially starts. Runners and walkers of all ages and levels are encouraged to participate in either the 5K or one-mile routes which will start at the front of the courthouse and ends near the fairgrounds and the Pork/Malt Stand.
Each run/walk participant will receive a souvenir, a coupon for a meal and a coupon for a malt too! Don’t feel like exercising, but want to enjoy a pork burger meal or a delicious malt without worrying about the long lines during the fair? The pork/malt stand will start serving at 5:30 p.m. to the public for this kickoff Tuesday, August 13th event at the 2019 Murray County Fair. Costs to the public will be the normal meal prices with additional options to donate to the fair.
If you are a competitor, your running times will be recorded, but it isn’t a serious competition. Want to bring your kids on a stroll on their way to the fair? This is the event to do it.
Cost to register to run/walk will be $20 per person or $50 per family which will include your meal/malt tickets, souvenir, and water after the race. All proceeds of this event will support the free entertainment options for the 2020 fair!
