The Murray County Historical Society kicks off its fourth season of the Front Porch Music Series on Thursday, July 19 at 7:00 p.m. on the front lawn of the Dinehart Holt House in Slayton Minnesota. This summer’s line-up starts out with local favorite MapleStreet. MapleStreet started as a father-son duo and developed into a full six-member band that plays a fusion of folk, bluegrass, and rock. For a taste of their unique sound, find their music on https://SoundCloud.com/greg-wasberg
On Thursday, July 26, at 7:00 p.m. regional favorite Kayla Daniels will grace the stage. Kayla is a Nashville recording artist and singer/songwriter from the area. If you love artists like Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride with a kick of Rock n Roll, you’ll love Kayla.
The last concert of the series has proven to be a huge favorite in the past. Kordal Kombat, an award winning a cappella barbershop quartet will bring its high energy, fun loving performance to the porch on August 2 at 7:00 p.m. They sing a variety of music that is guaranteed to bring smiles to faces young and old.
The concerts are provided through free will donation and are open to the public. The Murray County Historical Society will serve popcorn and cold water during the concerts and a free will donation basket will be passed to help defray the cost of the concerts. These are family friendly events, so bring the kids, a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy some great music under the big maple trees on the lawn.
If case of inclement weather, concerts will be held in the Murray County 4-H building on the fairgrounds.
