Murray County Medical Center welcomes Tracy Hansen

The Murray County Medical Center is excited to have Tracy Hansen, nurse practitioner, on staff. The Currie resident is officially ready and actually has been seeing patients at the center for a few weeks. She is anxious to start developing relationships with clients. “I’m really looking forward to establishing those long-term relationships with my patients and helping them on their journey to better health,” shared Hansen. Clients of all ages will be welcomed including infants all the way up to geriactrics. “I think it’s important to be able to know my patients, understand their health concerns, and be there to help them along the way.”

She grew up in Garretson, South Dakota, and intially thought her calling was in agriculture. She furthered her education at South Dakota State University studying agronomy.  As much as agriculture is a part of who she is, Hansen decided her real calling was caring for people along with health and exercise. She began classes at MinnesotaWest and earned a registered nursing degree and then transferrred back to SDSU. While there Hansen finished up her BSN and also earned a nursing leadership master’s degree as well. Her most recent stint was at Mankato State Univeristy obtaining a nurse practitioner certification. Hansen describes herself as a life-long learner.
