Murray County Relay for Life raises over $82,000

A new fund raising record of over $82,000 was met this year by the Relay For Life event that was held on August 12th at the Murray County Fairgrounds.

Ten teams stepped up to the plate and raised an amazing amount of money to help in the fight against cancer. There were two new teams this year, the Support Squad from Chandler and the Kim Holm agency Slayton. It is always good to have new teams, they bring excitement to the whole Relay with their excitement in the quest to find a cure and create more birthdays. The top three teams were First-Currie Coasters, Second-Schaap Sanitation and Third-Minnwest & Friends.  MCMC was the recipient of the Spirit Award.

The survivors and a guest were honored at the survivor reception at 4:00. This event is sponsored in part by the MCC employees and staff and the Murray County Pork Producers. Guests were treated to a pork loin dinner.
