Fulda Free Press staff writer Owen Olsem is eight years of age and will be attending third grade at Fulda Elementary School when the doors open this fall. He is also a member of the Bondin-Belfast 4-H Club and is in his third year of being a Cloverbud in the Murray County 4-H Program.
Olsem recently shared the projects that he has prepared for this year’s fair.
For one of his projects, Olsem found the lid to an old tin garbage can that had a clip on the inside that was just large enough to fit over his arm. Using his imagination, Olsem turned the lid into a shield as part of the armor that he wore for his 2015 Halloween costume. He used red, white and blue acrylic paints and a paint brush, to add color to the shield.
