Hills-Beaver Creek utilized a strong second half to pull away from Heron Lake-Okabena / Fulda in high school B-Squad girls’ basketball action at Okabena last Tuesday evening, December 17.
The visiting Patriots held a slim 22-16 halftime lead, but outscored the Coyotes by a commanding 30-12 spread in the game’s final 14 minutes to earn a 52-28 victory.
A total of five players scored for HLOF in a very balanced scoring effort as Faith White (nine), Kalli Johnson (seven), Claire Reith (seven), Addison Fisher (four) and Tara Tuin (one) combined to tally all 28 points.
White, Johnson and Reith each made a three-point shot during the game.
The loss dropped the B-Squad girls’ overall record to 2-4, but the Coyotes bounced back nicely with a victory over Cedar Mountain two nights later — see the separate story on that game.
