Santa to arrive here on Saturday, December 16th for a visit. Local merchants to begin Christmas Store Hours.

Enjoy a good time with your buddies at the “Remember Pearl Habor Discharge Party” to be held at the Fulda Memorial Hall on December 7th – Must be in uniform to be admitted.  Music by Tiny Little sponsored by the American Legion Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Miss Janice Ruesch and Mr. Roland Miller were united in marriage on November 24th at Immanuel American Lutheran Church of Fulda.

Mr. and Mrs. Richard Sellman are the parents of a daughter, Stacey, born November 21, 1967. Grandparents include Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Raatz and Mrs. Olga Sellman.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Schaffer are the parents of a son, David  born November 25th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Luverne Haberman and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Schaffer.

Mary Henkels and Al Sack announce their engagement. No definite wedding date has been set.

Last rites held on Friday for Peter Ulferts who passed away on November 20th after a lengthy illness at the age of 63.

Mrs. Gertrude Breen was laid to rest on Monday. Mrs. Breen passed away on November 25th at the age of 88 years old.

Mrs. Anna Wilkison celebrated her 85th birthday on Sunday, November 26th.

Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1987

Brad Wieskus, Cory Czepa, Chad Wieskus, Gretchen Winter, Jenny Aanenson, and Jenny Kirsch spend time after school working as their version of a Candy Striper at Maple Lawn Nursing Home. These kids go from room to room filling water pitchers and chatting with the residents. And they are learning to be caring, sharing and kind along the way.

The ice that moved into the area over the weekend was a nightmare for motorists, but a gift for the children in the area. Erin Dierks and Rachel Clayton enjoyed taking their sleds and ski’s to the drive way at St. Paul’s Church which had turned into a slippery-slope.

Working for the City of Fulda, Pudge Sanow puts the finishing touches on the Christmas decorations and lights on St. Paul Avenue.

Betsy Witzel, daughter of Jim and Ann, was one of the models at this years FHA Children’s Christmas Style Show held Monday evening.

Sheila Smith and Chuck Gunnink were married October 17th at the First Presbyterian Church. The couple will live in Maple Wood.

Lori Hoffman and Don Dahlstrom were united in marriage at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hopkins on May 16th. The couple plan to make Eden Prairie their home.

Debra Brown and John Buschena were united in marriage on September 19th at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fulda. The couples home is in Baltic, South Dakota.

Mr. and Mrs. Bob Haberman, are proud to announce the birth of a son, Timothy, born November 28th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moss and Florence Haberman.

Ruth Johnston passed away November 17th at the age of 66 years old.

Funeral services were held on Friday, November 27th, for Lavern Enninga at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

City of Fulda hires Tim Trocke, Plato, Minnesota, as new police officer.

The Fulda School Board spends time discussing a wage setting policy.

Joe Fuerstenberg remodels the Fulda Firemen lockers as his Eagle Scout project.

Kristin Crowley and Craig Bertrand, along with members of the Fulda Swing Choir, perform their routine at Minnesota West College and the December Christmas concert under the direction of Linda Lund.

Matt Hakeneis, an avid hunter at heart, nabbed a 10 point buck during deer season this year while hunting with his dad. Others claiming deer this season were Mark Blau, Tim Kunselmen, Jenny Blau, Elray Blau, Brian Baumgard, Don Kruger and Ken Salentiny.

Celebrating birthdays at Maple Lawn Nursing Home this month are Leona Bruns, Evelyn Utz, Clarence Bottoms, Bernice Sturm, Anna Gerdes and Elsie Storm.

Jim and Kelly Neyens are proud to announce the birth of their son, Tanner John born November 12th. Grandparents include Bill and Vickie Neyens and John and Judy Horn.

Being installed as Greanhands in FFA at the Fulda High School are Eric Johnson, Nathan Cuperus, Mike Ahlers and Jake Kramer.

Attending the National FFA Convention in Kansas City were Travis Reith, Noah Johnson, Chris Ahlers, Mike Fenske, Tonya Froderman and Kathy Klein.
