Mr. and Mrs. Schreiber are the new owners of Hyslop’s Hardware. The Schreibers are not new to the area as Marv worked for 10 years as custodian at the public schools. The hardware store will now be known as Marv’s Own Hardware!

Mr. Alan Gunderman has been appointed to teach in the Broward County Lutheran School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Monday evening, friends and neighbors came to the John Aukland farm to help clean the bean fields.

Neighbors and friends came to the aide of Reuben Grout who is recovering from surgery to help harvest oats and wheat and bale straw.

A large basket of white and yellow gladiolus with yellow mums and palm leaves at First Presbyterian Church was the setting for the marriage of Joan Fries and Roger Bultman on July 30th.

Pastor Oscar Stene was installed at Immanuel American Lutheran Church on August 7th.

Mr. and Mrs. Norbert Bremer are the parents of a daughter, Pamela born July 27th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Smith and Mr. and Mrs. George Bremer.

Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Chrestensen are the parents of a daughter, Sheila born July 21st.  Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Vern Chrestensen.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Freetly are the parents of a son, Daniel born July 27th. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Glen Freetly.

Dundee Nothing Days a huge success complete with Ugliest Shoe competition.

Randy and Jason Larson are among over 60 people who joined forces on Friends of the Environment Day to spruce up Lake Shetek Lutheran Bible Camp near Slayton, Minnesota.

The number of drivers killed in 1985 Minnesota traffic crashes who had been drinking dropped by 10 percent to the lowest lever ever in the state records.

Joan Olsem and Stephen Miller were united in marriage on July 5th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dundee with Father Larry Brixius and Father Andrew Olsem officiating.

In a very pretty summer evening ceremony on June 8th Cynthia Zins and Maurice Phipps were united in marriage at Christ’s Chapel in St. Peter, Minnesota.

Sara Dierksen of Dundee, earned the title of Champion Frog Racer at the ‘Shepherd of the Hills’ outdoor historical theatre in Branson, Missouri.

Doug and Leanna Olsem announce the arrival of Benjamin on July 20th. Grandparents include Dona and Bernett Furbuyt and Paul and Betty Olsem.

Martha Haumesser passed away on July 21st at the age of 85 years old.

Fulda is sending a ‘Wood Duck Team’ to Slayton to participate in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life.

Jo Ellen ‘Joey’ Kolander is named Relay for Life Honorary Chair.

Craig Bertrand achieves Eagle Scout with his landscaping project at his church in Wilmont.

Prairie Fire Children’s Theatre to present Peter Pan in Fulda with assistance for local children.

Citizens of Tomorrow include Eric and Justin Jass; Ashley and Emily Barritt; and Kirsten and Mallory Pagel.

Lewis Frisk, 74 passed away on Sunday.

Dundee Nothing Days celebrated over the weekend with a parade and road race.

Demolition of a Pioneer Home in Slayton has been put on hold by the Murray County Commissioners awaiting a  grant that has been applied for.
